Matt Damon is one of the most prolific actors in the industry who has made some of the most memorable and acclaimed films. With his Oscar win for Good Will Hunting early on in his career, he has participated in projects where character and plot are the central focus and has not done many big-budget blockbusters, barring a few like his stint as Jason Bourne.

Matt Damon has been openly vocal about how he does not like the excessive media exposure that comes with being a celebrity. As a family man, he feels that such exposure puts the family under enormous pressure and discomfort which they did not ask for in the first place. Damon said this about his relationship between him and the media, (via IMDB)
“Now I feel I have an unspoken deal with the paparazzi: ‘I won’t do anything publicly interesting if you agree not to follow me.'”
At the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, he revealed how his scandal-free life and a loving family helped him evade the attention of the media who constantly search for gossip, controversies, and salacious news. He said,
“The media gave up on me because I was so boring. What sells magazines is sex and scandal. Everybody knows I’m married and a dad and relatively free of scandal. It’s not worth their money to sit outside my house. They also know I’ll wait them out.”
Damon’s concerns are relatable as he wants some privacy and boundaries between his professional and personal life. He has no qualms about the media covering his films and acting endeavors but he wants some privacy with regards to his home life with family.

Matt Damon has been in some amazing films that have shown his versatility as an actor. But he had one film which he regretted signing on because it was not turning out the way that he hoped when he initially started. Damon said on Jake’s Takes that he fell into depression seeing the deteriorating state of the film (he didn’t divulge the name). He said,
“Without naming any particular movies…sometimes you find yourself in a movie that you know, perhaps, might not be what you had hoped it would be, and you’re still making it. And I remember halfway through production and you’ve still got months to go and you’ve taken your family somewhere, you know, and you’ve inconvenienced them, and I remember my wife pulling me up because I fell into a depression about like, what have I done?”
On the work front, Damon had an incredible 2023 with the huge successes of Air and Oppenheimer. He will star in Drive-Away Dolls directed by Ethan Coen. He will appear alongside Casey Affleck in the heist thriller The Instigators directed by Doug Liman.
