Jason Momoa has been working as an actor since 1999, for starters he appeared in Baywatch: Hawaii, then he went on to work as Khal Drogo in the first two seasons of Game of Thrones. But that’s not all, as Momoa has been in the spotlight for his wide range of works in the movies as well, as he worked in DCEU as Aquaman, and most recently he played the role of a villainous, Dante Reyes in the Fast and Furious franchise.
While watching Jason Momoa as a hero is entertaining he stole the show as a villain in Fast X, as viewers couldn’t take his eyes off him. Moreover, his portrayal had sidelined the much-awaited return of Dwayne Johnson in the franchise, but that’s not all as Momoa is set to shadow his co-star because he may have stolen another big role from the People’s Champ.
Jason Momoa Potentially Steals A Major Role From Dwayne Johnson
The past couple of years are not going too well for Dwayne Johnson as he was kicked out of DCEU following his catastrophic failure with Black Adam and publicly criticized Warner Bros. for kicking him out of the franchise. He also quit the Fast and Furious franchise after he called out his co-stars for their lack of enthusiasm and professionalism, but he decided to let go of the issue, as he returned to the franchise.
The return was immensely loved by the fans, but it was short-lived as the Skyscraper actor’s return was eclipsed by Jason Momoa and his intriguing portrayal of Dante Reyes. But the problem does not end there for Dwayne Johnson as it looks like the Slumberland actor has possibly stolen a passion project from the 10-time WWE Champion.
Lobo is one of the fan-favorite characters among comic book fans and a solo film has been in the works since about 2009. While Johnson bagged the role in 2012, the project stalled again. Instead of waiting, he diverted his attention to portray Black Adam in the DCEU. Now, rumors have started to circulate the internet that Jason Momoa’s tenure as Aquaman is over, and he is potentially going to play Lobo in the rebooted DCU.
The rumors were fueled by the actor himself as he was recently a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he talked about his journey as Aquaman and how it will be the end of the road for him as Aquaman.
“I mean, this is kind of, like, the end of this—The DC Universe. I mean, things have happened before. So I guess if people like it…?”
However, he dropped one of the biggest hints that he might helm the role of Lobo as he coyly leaned over to the host and said, “But yeah… there’ll always be a place for me at DC.” The hint can be supported as it was also rumored that a casting audition took place in 2022. If the rumors are true, then, Momoa is set to play another iconic role, and watching him pull off the character’s sleazy, ultra-violent personality would be amazing.

Despite Screen Failure DC Studios Will Release Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
As per multiple sources, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom have faced delays due to bad test screenings. The sequel had a monthly budget of approximately $205 million because of all the reshoots, hence DC can no longer do any more reshoots as the budget has already crossed their expectations. Therefore, they will have to release what they have created.
The sequel was initially delayed due to Amber Heard’s court battle, as she portrayed the role of Mera in the franchise. The actress faced allegations from her ex-husband, Johnny Depp that she has abused him and his career is in ruins because of her. As a result, a petition was released to fire her from the film. Hence, after five years of delay, the film will finally be released.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released in theatres on 22nd December 2023.
