Chris Evans’ portrayal of Captain America is one of the best things about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as when it came to his performance, it was mesmerizing. The actor portrayed the role for 8 years, and during this period he appeared in 12 MCU movies, including a trilogy and four Avengers movies, which has established him as one of the pillar characters of the franchise.

Sadly, his tenure of portraying the character came to an end in 2019, after he returned the Infinity Stones to their respective periods, and got the happy ending he was yearning for.

However, it looks like Chris Evans might return to MCU to reprise his role as The First Avenger. While many fans believe that he might return in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars, Evans’ return is closer than before as he might feature in Captain America: Brave New World.

As ardent fans remember the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers/ Captain America got his much happy ending with Peggy Carter. The ending was followed by Rogers returning as an old man, and passing the shield to the Falcon. While this raised questions as fans saw various instances in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier that kept teasing the actor’s much-anticipated return.

Following the series, there have been countless rumors circulating the internet stating that the Ghosted actor is set to return to reprise his role. One of the biggest possibilities of his return would be Captain America: Brave New World, as fans remember that in the series Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson referred to Roger’s mysterious whereabouts. There’s a significant chance, that he might return to talk about those whereabouts.

Moreover, Anthony Mackie hinted at Evans’ return as Steve Rogers/ Captain America on Jimmy Kimmel Liveas he said “I didn’t see him die! I don’t know, I saw Chris two weeks ago, and he looked pretty good.”  Hence, it would be interesting to see what Marvel would do in the upcoming film.

What Are The Possibilities Of Seeing Chris Evans in Captain America: Brave New World?

Of the three endings of the three original Avengers characters in the Avengers: Endgame only the ending of Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers has raised the most questions among the passionate fans. These questions were not the result of fan theories or the multiverse saga featured in Phase 4 or Phase 5, but it was purely the fault of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The MCU teased the fans as they teased about his mysterious whereabouts which has made fans wonder if they’ll get to see their favorite Avenger in the upcoming film. However, Chris Evans is very particular about the role, as he believes the title now belongs to Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, and he would often expect hesitancy when asked about reprising the character. While talking to Good Morning America, he said this about the role of Steve Rogers.

“Oh man, you know, as much as I would love to. That was such a special time in my life. I’m very precious with the character, That’s the problem. I’m so protective of it.”

Hence, fans should not get their hopes high because even if Evans returns to the franchise, he’ll be old Steve Rogers or possibly a variant of the character fans have seen over the years.
