5. Yuki Tsukumo
Yuki Tsukumo, a powerful sorcerer, had a special ability recognized by the Jujutsu society. She could increase her mass and that of her shikigami, Garuda. Tengen, an important figure, considered Yuki as someone to protect him. Unfortunately, she died defending Tengen from the sorcerer Kenjaku.
Yuki’s death resulted from using her Maximum Technique, turning herself into a black hole. This technique could have destroyed the world, but Tengen contained it with his barriers. Surprisingly, Kenjaku survived by using his own body as a protective space. In the end, Yuki sacrificed her life for no reason.
4. Jogo
Jogo, a powerful Cursed Spirit born from humanity’s fear of volcanoes, aimed to replace humans with a new dominant curse species. He was determined to end humanity, even if he didn’t survive to witness it. In a battle against Sukuna, Jogo died trying to land an attack and failed.
Sukuna, after gaining control of Itadori’s body, had promised Jogo a request if he succeeded. However, Jogo couldn’t fulfill the condition and died from a technique similar to his own, used by Sukuna in their final battle hour.

3. Junpei Yoshino
In Junpei’s story, there are moments when things seem to improve. He becomes friends with Yuji, and it looks like he’s overcoming past trauma. Unfortunately, his life takes a terrible turn due to his connection with the powerful curse, Mahito.
Mahito manipulates Junpei and even causes the death of Junpei’s mother. When Junpei realizes he’s been deceived, Mahito transforms him into a monster in front of Yuji.
Junpei’s death isn’t as significant for the main character’s development as some other events. The important change comes after Yoshino’s death when Yuji reevaluates his views on curses.
2. Mimiko and Nanako Hasaba
Mimiko and Nanako, two curse users, were adopted by Geto after their village imprisoned them for being able to see curses. The villagers blamed the girls for curse-related troubles. When Geto found out, he killed the villagers and took the girls in. Later, Mimiko and Nanako were upset by Kenjaku’s actions towards their master’s body.
To seek revenge, they offered Sukuna a finger to kill Kenjaku, but Sukuna didn’t like the idea and killed the girls instead. Sadly, their deaths seemed unnecessary in the story, and some fans were shocked by Gege Akutami’s decision to kill off characters in such a heartless way.
1. Kugisaki Nobara
Nobara’s death, if it happened, seemed the most pointless. It didn’t contribute to Itadori’s character development through trauma, Nanami’s death could have. Nanami’s death was crucial for Yuji’s growth, pushing him to face the series’ strongest characters.
Nobara’s death appears as an unnecessary tragedy, driven by the author’s lack of subtlety, making the series feel repetitive in how characters cope with pain.
