When Sandra Bullock Won A Razzie Award

After the movie, Sandra Bullock was nominated for a Razzie Award which she graciously accepted. In her speech (via abc News), Bullock shared that she didn’t know that all she had to do was show up.

“I didn’t realize that all I had to do was show up and then I’d win. This is the deal I’m going to make. I will show up next year if you promise to watch the movie, really watch it, and really consider if it really and truly was the worst performance. If you’re willing to watch it, I will come back next year and I will give back the Razzie.”

However, that wasn’t the end of the talk. Giving an ultimatum to the Golden Raspberry committee, Sandra Bullock stated that she would read the script page by page. Adding upon it, the actress boldly stated that they could do this the whole day or the committee could bring her back next year.

Becoming the only actress to win an Oscar and a Razzie in the same year, Bullock further challenged the Golden Raspberry Committee to have her read the script. Challenging everyone, the actress revealed that the decision was kind of “duh” given her movie.

“I brought the shooting script, the final shooting draft, and I will go page by page by page of my dialogue. I’m going to read the line the way that I read it in the film and then I want anyone who wants to come give me a line reading back to come up.”

She further continued,

“If you had seen the film, seen it, with your eyes, it’s pretty much a film about a woman stalking a man. That doesn’t really set up the premise for a loving couple. So to give us the worst couple award is kind of a ‘duh.'”

All About Steve received a rating of 4.8/10 on IMDB and a record low of 6% on Rotten Tomatoes. Starring alongside Bradley Cooper, Bullock’s film earned $40 million globally and is available to stream on Max in the U.S.
