It did feature Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800, but the veteran actor previously stated that he has no plans to return for a possible Terminator 7 film. However, one idea could change Schwarzenegger’s stance on not wanting to return to a new movie to revive the dying franchise.

Sylvester Stallone Getting Cast in Terminator 7 Could Bring Back Arnold Schwarzenegger

During the 1980s and 1990s, the box office was ruled by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone’s rivalry. Both actors delivered several blockbuster films in the two decades, which resulted in them developing a hatred for each other.

However, those days are long gone, as the two superstars have become close friends over the years. In fact, if director James Cameron can convince Stallone to join Terminator 7, it could lead to Schwarzenegger coming back as well.

As far as the plot of the movie is concerned, Cameron could transform the movie into a buddy comedy between the two stars. After all, the serious tone hasn’t really worked for the franchise over the last few years, with both Terminator 5 and Terminator 6 being box-office failures.

To be honest, Stallone’s arrival could be the breath of fresh air that the franchise has lacked since the 2003 film Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

As for the movie, it’s currently in pre-production, with Cameron working on an inspiring script. Considering Cameron has also indulged in multiple Avatar movies, it may take some time for Terminator 7 to possibly begin casting, and then filming.

Have Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone Done Any Movies Together?

As of 2023, the two superstars have appeared in three films together. They shared the big screen for the first two Expendables movies in 2010 and 2012, respectively. In addition, Schwarzenegger and Stallone were cast together in the 2013 film Escape Plan as well.

However, since then, the two actors haven’t been provided with the opportunity to work together in any movies or TV shows. It could change if James Cameron brings together the iconic duo for Terminator 7.
