When it comes to the road taken to be the next big thing in the film industry, many A-list stars take the route from TV shows to the big screen. Actress Margot Robbie is no different since to conquer the center stage of Hollywood today, she had to start somewhere, and the early days of her career were highlighted by her part in an Australian soap drama.

In a past interview with GQ, the Suicide Squad actress opened up about the time she had just begun her acting career, and the first major role she got was in a soap drama titled Neighbours. She revealed that despite all the hard work she put into her films, her days on the sets of the show originated a deep respect for TV actors.
Because TV shows are long-running when they are a hit with the audience, actors have to be pervasive with their roles, not to mention, long shooting schedules that they have to follow, unlike film schedules that only last a couple of months. She said:
“I learnt a lot on Neighbours. It irritates me so much the way people talk about soaps because it is far more difficult working on a soap than it is on a big studio film. On a feature film, you’re very aware that there is a lot of money invested in you and what you look like and how you’re perceived, and it’s daunting.”
Thus, looking back at her early days of acting, she has learned and respected the work that actors perform in any form of entertainment, especially knowing first-hand how demanding it can be.
