Why Taxi Driver Star Jodie Foster Feels Annoyed by Gen Z Behavior

Jodie Foster has reached the stage of her career where she is often the eldest talent on the set. However, despite boasting a five-decade-long experience in the industry, it’s not always easy for Foster to gel with everyone.

In an interview with The Guardian, the four-time Oscar nominee admitted she sometimes finds Generation Z “really annoying”. Often the biggest issue for Foster is to understand their attitudes toward their work.

“They’re really annoying, especially in the workplace,” Foster said. “They’re like: ‘Nah, I’m not feeling it today, I’m gonna come in at 10.30am.’ Or in emails, I’ll tell them: this is all grammatically incorrect, did you not check your spelling? And they’re like: ‘Why would I do that, isn’t that kind of limiting?’”

However, The Silence of the Lambs star still wants to help young female actors find their path without burying themselves under unnecessary pressure.

She continued: “They need to learn how to relax, how to not think about it so much, how to come up with something that’s theirs. I can help them find that, which is so much more fun than being, with all the pressure behind it, the protagonist of the story.”

In that regard, she made extra effort to get in touch with Bella Ramsey, the non-binary actor who has attracted headlines for her brilliant work in The Last of Us.

What Jodie Foster Said About Games of Thrones Star Bella Ramsey

Ramsey, akin to Foster, has been working in the industry since a very early age. They entered the humongous set of Game of Thrones at age 11 to play Lyanna Mormont, head of House Mormont.

Foster met with Ramsey at the Elle magazine Women in Hollywood celebration in November and was left impressed with their “authenticity”. She said:

“Bella, who gave the best speech, was wearing the most perfect suit, beautifully tailored, and a middle parting and no makeup.”

Despite so much fame, which more often than not also accompanies scrutiny, Ramsey has navigated the difficult water very well so far in her career. The Last of Us fans can’t wait to see what the 20-year-old has in store for the second season of HBO’s hit drama.
