Throughout gaming, there will always be challenges that players take on to make the game harder, but one player made up their own challenge for Elden Ring, in which they tasked their girlfriend with attempting to complete Elden Ring with zero gaming experience, and already this girlfriend has made their partner eat their words.
The bet that was put forward to this gamer’s girlfriend is the challenge to complete Elden Ring from start to finish. There have been some rules put in place, like no farming runes, no magic, melee only, and finally, they have to beat the entire game by June 6, 2024.
How Has This New Elden Ring Player Managed Their Bet?
According to the Reddit post that this gamer’s girlfriend has posted, which details the parameters of her bet with her partner, she currently has until June 6th of this year to complete Elden Ring while keeping to the rules that her partner has set up above.
At the time of the post, the gamers girlfriend has managed to play over 89 hours of Elden Ring and has now managed to progress so far that she is at the final boss and ready to attempt it. This has caused quite a lot of humour within the gaming community, as many gamers have asked why the partner made such a silly bet to begin with.
For those who may not be aware, Elden Ring is a very challenging game that could easily take a player well over 200 hours if they don’t know what they are doing. From the looks of this gamers girlfriends progress in the game, she will easily manage to complete the game well before the 6-month deadline that has been set by her partner.
Understandably, there are a few rules that this partner refused to add to the mix, which would be too hard, as they could have included the rule that would stop their girlfriend from summoning allies, whether they be AI or humans, which would make the game incredibly hard as they are unable to farm runes already, so they cannot increase their level to surpass certain challenges they face.
Why Are Gamers Applauding the Partner, Their Choice of Bet, and Its Rules?
As stated above, there are many gamers who are rather confused as to why the partner has created this bet with the limited rules and major timeline that they have created. There are some who believe that they never had faith in their girlfriend, meaning they would expect them to fail and take a lot longer than they already have to succeed.
Whereas there are more gamers who believe that this was some smart subterfuge from the gamer, as they have created a rather reasonable bet with very little to no complications that could hinder their girlfriend in the long run and would cause them to struggle for so long.
Since this gamer has bet $500 for their girlfriend to essentially get involved with their hobby and clearly enjoy it enough to nearly complete the game in nearly 89 hours while having well over 5 months before their deadline, leaving only the excuse that they are loving the game and are glad they took on this bet and earned a rather decent sum of money in the process.
This adds a little bit more hope to the story, as the gamers girlfriend will most likely appreciate the hobby a lot more and will hopefully get more invested in spending time gaming, and in the long run, she may even join in when her partner plays games, providing them with some quality time together.
