Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime known for having characters with unique and different powers as well as backgrounds. One such character is Masamichi Yaga, a grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer and a cursed corpse user, allowing him to create cursed corpses such as Panda.
Masamichi’s ability to create sustainable cursed corpses made him one to be feared by the higher-ups and was wrongfully blamed as one of the co-operators in the Shibuya Incident, eventually leading to his execution.
Other than being a master at the sorcery of Cursed Corpses, Masamichi was the mentor of none other than Gojo Satoru and Suguru Geto, two of the most powerful sorcerers in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Why Did Masamichi Yaga Stand As A Threat To The Higher-Ups?
Learning about what Masamichi was capable of doing, he was someone to be feared and a matter of concern by the higher-ups, which led him to be wrongfully accused as one of the conspirators of the Shibuya Incident. He was used as a scapegoat to be held responsible for the immense loss at the Shibuya Incident, accused of wrongly using his research and knowledge of creating sentient cursed corpses.
Masamichi Yaga was also conscious of the fact that the higher-ups only wanted to gain knowledge of his secret to creating cursed corpses, something which he refused to share, eventually leading to a duel with the principal Gakuganji resulting in Yaga’s fateful execution.

It was not till his dying breath that he finally revealed his secret to his executioner, The principal, calling it a curse to be passed down from him to Gakuganji. While the passing down of this information has held little impact on the plot of the series till now, it remains unclear if Gakuganji will be making use of Yaga’s technique in the future.
What Made Masamichi’s Technique So Special?
Masamichi Yaga remains the most proficient user of the cursed corpse technique and only passed down his formula of creation as a curse to his executioner during his death. As mentioned earlier, he was able to create fully independent cursed corpses, such as Panda, and while this remains an impressive feat, it is something that concerned the higher-ups. Masamichi was then questioned about his intentions with what he planned with the ability of his cursed corpse technique.

Masamichi found that his mastery in crafting cursed corpses, while granting him formidable power, became a curse in its own right. Yaga carried the burden of hiding the secret of his craft, especially from the higher ups. It eventually became one of the leading reasons to Masamichi’s execution and death, something which remains controversial amongst the fans till this day.
