Oda’s One Piece is known for its great storyline, world-building, and some of the hardest characters the anime industry has ever seen. The development of One Piece has helped many other manga creators understand and be influenced by their work. However, the one thing that Oda might not have been praised for is his drawing of the characters.

While Oda has drawn some of the most iconic characters, his art style may not be appreciated as much because he has a habit of including a goofy element in his characters that not only creates a sense of humor but decreases the seriousness of the character. This was evident when he drew the main characters of other anime series and fans could not handle it.

Eiichiro Oda Drew Other Main Characters

Over the years, Eiichiro Oda has collaborated or connected with many other anime series and has used his artistic style to create the main characters of these anime shows either for the shonen jump or for his SBS volumes. Majorly these main character lists include Kurosaki Ichigo from Bleach, Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia, Goku from Dragon Ball, and Naruto from Naruto.

Renowned for his distinct and alluring artistic approach, Oda is known for his exaggerated dimensions, expressive features, minute details, exuberant action scenes, and lighthearted humor, and all of these elements were visible in Oda’s version of the main characters that he drew over the years.

Although this artistic style suits the characters of One Piece and other works of Oda, it could not do justice to other main characters. It took away their distinctive feature and all of them just looked like another version of Luffy and portrayed his goofy, lighthearted style on their faces.

Oda’s art style is not meant for other anime series. While his story holds a major element of humor, it is reflected in his characters and that can be stated as one of the reasons why his work is loved so much. While, his drawings of other characters might not have received much praise from the fans, his magnum opus, One Piece continues to be on the top of the anime industry.
