Jujutsu Kaisen has attained preeminence among the masses for many reasons, one of which is its excellent female cast. Gege Akutami indeed knows how to write women without sexualizing them. Kugisaki Nobara is one of the main characters in the story and part of the main trio.
However, she met her inevitable end at the hands of Mahito during the Shibuya arc; luckily, her demise was never confirmed by the author. Fans were desiring her to make a comeback soon but with the story almost reaching its conclusion, if Nobara fails to return in the next chapter, then her chances after that point are almost zero.
Nobara’s return to the story is unlikely if she doesn’t return in Chapter 250 of Jujutsu Kaisen
Kugaisaki Nobara is one of the most prominent characters of Jujutsu Kaisen and is part of the main trio alongside Itadori Yuji and Megumi Fushiguro. It didn’t take long after her introduction to the story for fans to flock around her due to her jolly personality.
Her dazzling chemistry with Yuji and teaming up with him to bully Megumi gave fans some good laughs; however, her fate changed with Shibuya, and she ended up facing Mahito.
Despite being a lower grader, she managed to put up a good fight and would have almost killed Mahito if she had more understanding about him. Her demise sent waves into the community and ever since, fans have started putting together numerous theories on how she will return.
Editor of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga Junya Fukuda affirmed in an interview with “One Piece Variety: Become the Pirate King TV” on the Japanese TV channel that there will be some jaw-droppers in the impending chapters and fans were wishing for her return but it didn’t happen.
Unfortunately, she has been gone now for more than half of the series, and with each passing chapter propelling the story to its end, the hopes of her return are slowly starting to fade, with Gege Akutami aiming to complete the story in 2024.
Chapter 250 is around the corner and if Nobara fails to make a comeback, her chances are almost negligible. With only a few chapters left for the story to conclude, it’s now or never for Nobara.
Would Nobara’s return change anything in the story?
Fans have been praying for Nobara’s return and whether their prayers will be accepted or not depends on Gege Akutami’s decision. However, the series has reached a stage where her comeback wouldn’t add anything to the plot.
Nobara is a strong character but is nowhere near the strongest character in the series, whom Sukuna is currently dog-walking. The fights are far beyond the level Kugisaki possesses, and even if she somehow managed to return, her role in the victory would not be mentionable.
With Sukuna rampaging the entire Jujutsu world and only Yuta being able to stop him with the help of Yuji, Kugisaki won’t be able to do anything major to the king of curses, who most likely would end her in one blow.
As much fun as it was during the beginning of the story, where Itadori, Kugisaki, and Nobara used to be the main trio, the days have passed, and so has her time as the main lead. But it remains interesting to see if she will return or not.
