Brian Cox Did Mind When He Wasn’t Asked To Reprise His Role!
Back in 2003, Cox (known for his Succession fame) portrayed the role of William Stryker in the iconic film X2. Starring alongside the likes of Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, and several others, Cox had a great time while shooting the film.
Later in 2009, the actor was replaced by his friend Danny Huston, who also portrayed the role of William Stryker in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In an interview with The Starting Line Podcast, Brian Cox revealed that he did not mind that he was replaced by his friend.
“No I mean, I did Stryker, and then they did it again in Australia, and my friend Danny Huston played Stryker.”
He further stated that he was stuck with a simple question on why he wasn’t called back to reprise his role in the film.
“Danny’s an old friend of mine so I, don’t feel any…But I kept thinking why did they not ask me. And I spoke to David Benioff about it, beacuse he had done the original, he didn’t do the final script, but he did the original script. So I don’t know. When these things finish, I tend to let go of them.”
