Ubisoft must be hoping to make up for the flop shows like Skull and Bones. The developer is back again with Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The game is set in feudal Japan and features a couple of protagonists, namely Yasuke and Naoe. Former of which attracted some foul attention, and the controversy is still on.
However, fans might have something new to talk about as enthusiasts across the globe preorder the game. Intriguingly, they are preordering the Gold Edition instead of the Limited Edition of the game. The former is expensive and includes the base game and season pass, while the latter includes a Sekiryu Character Pack in place of the season pass.
That’s Either Madness or Assassin’s Creed Has Still Got the Charm

You get what you paid for, and that is what the Assassin’s Creed fanbase is doing after recent images of the game’s preorder emerged on the internet. Users were surprised by the fact that people are ordering the $110 edition instead of the standard one.
A user named Pirat_Nation shared an image on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that highlights that the Gold Edition has been sold more than the Limited Edition. The user also mentioned that the former is number one concerning sales in Japan.

Another user appears optimistic about the fact that the game will fail. He also affirmed his decision not to defend gamers after the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game flops. He said the community didn’t learn from what happened with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Skull and Bones.
We didn't learn from Suicide Squad or Skull and Bones. I'm not defending gamers after this shit flops.

Another user appeared surprised by the fact that users began paying that much despite the fact that they hadn’t even seen the gameplay. Pirate_Nation replied to him that people will “preorder anything nowadays.”
People just preorder anything nowadays

The game is set for release on November 15, 2024, and with preorders rising at such a pace, it shows fans’ faith in the game.
Some Fans Have Already Shown Their Faith in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Fans were divided after the publisher released the game’s trailer. Some faithful gamers have already made up their minds and will be purchasing it no matter what happens. The others who are upset over the different debates surrounding the game, be it the allegedly changed story or the protagonist, haven’t clarified if they’ll be playing it.
Some of the users were concerned about the game’s pricing. The Ultimate Edition of the game has been labeled with a price tag of $129.99. Fans even claimed that the protagonist controversy making the rounds on the internet simply distracts players from the hefty pricing.
Ubisoft must be counting on the game, which fans believe may suffer an identity crisis similar to Mirage. It will all be cleared by the end of this year if the company doesn’t announce any delays for the release.
