Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc is set to return with another mystery in the upcoming installment of the hit film series, Knives Out 3. The filmmaker, Rian Johnson, who directed the previous two installments, recently revealed the official title of the movie, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which is scheduled to release in 2025.
Continuing the tradition of ensemble casts, it is also expected to feature a stellar lineup. And the Spider-Man star Thomas Haden Church has become the latest addition to the ensemble, which includes the likes of Jeremy Renner and Josh Brolin alongside Craig.
Thomas Haden Church Joins Netflix’s Knives Out 3
Known for portraying the role of Sandman in Spider-Man 3, Thomas Haden Church has become the latest actor to join the ensemble cast of the upcoming film in the Knives Out film series, starring Daniel Craig as the private investigator, Benoit Blanc.
The 63-year-old actor, who reprised his Sandman role in the MCU film Spider-Man: No Way Home, has delivered several critically acclaimed performances, notably earning an Oscar nomination for his performance in the 2004 film Sideways.
Haden Church is also set to star in Kevin Costner’s highly anticipated Wester film series Horizon: An American Saga. The actor is reportedly busy with the filming of Chapter 3 in the film series, however, his role in the movie has not been disclosed.
Details about his role in Knives Out 3 have not been revealed. The plot of the upcoming film is kept under wraps. However, the filmmaker has suggested that the next installment will have a different tone than the previous two movies.
The original film, released in 2019, was a critical and commercial hit, making over $310 million at the box office along with earning an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. Netflix later acquired the rights to the film’s sequels and released the 2022 film, which also garnered significant acclaim.
Knives Out 3 is Also Expected to Feature a Steller Lineup
Both the 2019 film and its sequel featured ensemble casts, including Ana De Armas, Chris Evans in the original Knives Out film, and Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, and Kathryn Hahn in the 2022 sequel alongside Daniel Craig.
The upcoming installment in the series is also expected to continue this tradition with a stellar cast. Numerous acclaimed actors have joined the cast since the filmmaker Rian Johnson revealed the official title of the film.
Craig, who is set to return as Benoit Blanc in Wake Up Dead Man, will be joined by new additions including Marvel stars Jeremy Renner, Josh Brolin, and Thomas Haden Church. The film has also added Challengers star Josh O’Connor, Priscilla star Cailee Spaeny, and Leo Grande star Daryl McCormack.
Mila Kunis and the Emmy-nominated actors Kerry Washington and Andrew Scott. The acclaimed actress Glenn Close is also set to star in the movie. While details regarding their respective roles in the film or its plot have not yet been revealed, it has been described as the most dangerous case of Benoit Blanc.
