The battle of Meridia to destroy the Terminid Supercolony in Helldivers 2 was far more chaotic than players expected it to be. Thankfully, all the Dark Fluid that was injected into the planet’s core has destroyed Meridia, leaving a massive black hole in its place. The mission was very challenging but there is something that everyone will miss: the Dark Fluid vessels that could be used like a jump pack.

A viral post on the Helldivers 2 subreddit is asking Arrowhead Game Studios to make regular jump-packs like the Dark Fluid vessel jump-packs. With a major update rolling out in the coming weeks, Arrowhead has the chance to introduce a new jump pack in the game or they can simply make the current LIFT-850 Jump Pack better.

The LIFT-850 Jump Pack is one of the most popular Stratagems in Helldivers 2 as it significantly helps when players are getting chased down by hordes of enemies. The fans of this Stratagem recently came across a variation of it while fighting on Meridia: the Dark Fluid vessels. On Meridia, players could call in a Dark Fluid vessel, which was a backpack that allowed players to use it like a jump-pack. Players loved this backpack as it exhibited abilities that were much better than the regular backpack.
Due to its faster cooldown time and the ability to lift players much higher than the LIFT-850 Jump Pack, players on the r/Helldivers subreddit are now begging Arrowhead to make the regular jump pack as good as the Dark Fluid vessel backpack.
Super Earth may have made a mistake by destroying Meridia

The Helldivers 2 community injected Dark Fluid into Meridia’s core to destroy a Terminid Supercolony that was residing on it. The mission was successful and the Terminid threat has been slowed down for now, but the massive black hole that was formed after Meridia’s destruction may cause more havoc in the future.
There are theories that the Illuminate faction from the first Helldivers game will use this black hole as a medium to travel from the past to the present. Players have been expecting the Illuminate’s arrival ever since a Warp Gate was discovered in the game’s files. Now, it seems like they are all prepared for their invasion and Super Earth’s decision to destroy Meridia may have made things easier for them.
Helldivers 2 is available on Windows and PlayStation 5.
