With 2025 as the official release date for GTA 6, gamers are champing at the bit for anything new about the game coming from Rockstar. The previous trailer gave us a fair bit to consider, but there is always more to be shown, especially given the long development process of the title.

Conferences and expos are prime opportunities for studios to reveal their games, and Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest is soon approaching. However, there will be no GTA 6 content at the event, and it’s not the only studio choosing to keep quiet about its upcoming project.

GTA 6, Judas, Half-Life 3, and More To Skip Summer Game Fest

Judas, like GTA 6, will not be appearing at the Summer Game Fest.

E3 was that yearly unifying event that brought gamers across platforms under one roof where studios could regale us with their newest offerings. The demise of E3 was bittersweet, as it ended a yearly ritual but allowed companies to further diversify and improve their shows without being beholden to a third party. All things considered, then, the Summer Game Fest is a surprisingly successful event!

But it’s far from perfect. The event is primarily for third-party studios that are not directly attached to one of the big three companies, but even then, it doesn’t mean all of them are jumping at the opportunity. A recent list published on X by @Jorraptor has confirmed several titles that will not be presented at the show.

Among these is Judas, developed by Ghost Story Games and Ken Levine’s first project ever since BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea back in 2014. Fans of BioShock should feel very familiar with how Judas looks and plays, but it is an entirely new game not related to the BioShock series in any way.

The trailer and gameplay overview videos have given us some understanding of the world and story, but there’s a lot left to learn about Judas. The title featues animations and art styles that are reminiscent of BioShock. Levine is known for creating intricate narratives, and it will be interesting to see what he has in store for us.

Judas Requires Adept Shooting and Hacking Skills to Deal with Threats

While Judas will not be present at Summer Game Fest, we have reports of certain reveals, such as 2K Games possibly bringing Borderlands 4 to the event. The fans are still going to feel the absence of Judas, as the gameplay overview videos only left us with even more questions and wanting a greater understanding of the skills.

The game will follow the BioShock formula of having a weapon in your right hand and abilities in your left. Being a hacker, Judas can manipulate and affect the various animatronic enemies, allowing for certain moves such as expelling oil to create a flammable trap or turning them against their factions.

Some other abilities, such as shooting electricity and flames from your left hand, are a throwback to Plasmids and Salts, which offered similar effects. The environment can also be used to your advantage, such as by shocking a pool of water to electrocute all the enemies it touches.
