Jafaar Jackson, who is the nephew of legendary singer Michael Jackson, is set to make his debut in acting with the upcoming film titled Michael. Based on the life of Jackson, Lionsgate company will be releasing the film theatrically in the United States while Universal Pictures will be the worldwide distributor.
Starring alongside Jafaar Jackson are Miles Teller, Colman Domingo, Nia Long, and several others. Despite the film being a biopic about the legendary singer, the entertainment company made a bold statement recently and the fans are amused.
In an interview (via The Hollywood Reporter), Jim Packer, the president of worldwide television distribution at Lionsgate had some pretty words to say about their upcoming film!
The buzz that we’re getting every time a photo gets released is kind of crazy. And I think that’ll be the biggest movie we’ve ever had.
And although Packer might be right in his words, fans decided to have some fun with the report. The Hunger Games franchise has collected a total amount of $3.3 billion at the global box office across four movies. Well, to beat the odds, Michael has to earn at least $1 billion to make itself stand out.
Taking to the comment section on X (formerly Twitter), people talked and joked about the potential of the upcoming film crossing a billion dollars.
