The Viper Commandos Premium Warbond is here with Helldivers 2‘s patch 1.000.406. Fans are convinced that the exciting new weapons and gear in the latest jungle-themed Warbond is a direct reference to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s action scenes in 1987’s Predator. This makes sense as Arrowhead has timed everything perfectly to give players a proper action movie experience by launching a liberation campaign on Meissa, a jungle-themed planet.

Players expected to see another Jungle-themed planet under Terminids’ control but as of now, nothing has been revealed. The Patch 1.000.406 is huge and has introduced a lot of changes that impact the gameplay. For starters, Patrol spawning is back and is definitely testing everyone’s patience.

After backlash from the community over dull Warbonds, Arrowhead has finally taken the community’s feedback and come up with the Viper Commandos Premium Warbond. As the name suggests, this army, jungle-themed Premium Warbond will definitely remind you of Call of Duty. Not to mention that this Warbond finally added a throwing knife in the game, something that has been a part of the Call of Duty franchise for a long time. Players have also been asking Arrowhead to take inspiration from this cult classic that was released over two decades ago.

A player has pointed out on the r/Helldivers2 subreddit that this Premium Warbond reminds most players of Arnold Schwarzenegger from 1987’s Predator as his outfit from the movie is quite similar to what players get in the Warbond. Just like in the movie, players are now ripping apart bots on the jungle-themed planet Meissa. Plus one of the new emotes is also a reference to the epic handshake between Dutch and Dillon in the movie. The response from the community has been positive so far, so maybe Arrowhead is finally heading in the right direction.

There was a lot of anticipation for Patch 1.000.406 since Arrowhead assured the community that many big changes would be made, particularly to unused Stratagems. In the official PlayStation website’s Helldivers 2 Patch Notes blog post, players can see that changes have been made to over 30 weapons/Stratagems. Apart from this, targeting has also been improved. Several changes to the gameplay have also been made in terms of Planets, Armors, and Enemies.
For the first time in the game, players can now see the Supply Lines & Origin of Attacks on the Galactic War map, potentially allowing the community to stop the attack at its source. A lot of bugs and glitches have also been fixed, including the infinite grenade glitch that players were abusing.
Helldivers 2 is available on Windows and PlayStation 5.
