Sabrina Carpenter has been churning out pop bangers over the years and has slowly climbed the bandwagon of the most consistent pop artists of the current generation. 2022’s Emails I Can’t Send was a bonafide pop album with no skips and the singer seems to be aiming higher with her upcoming album Short n’ Sweet.
The album’s lead single Espresso proved to be a big cultural sensation with everyone in the world humming to the song. The second single of the album Please Pease Please served as a sequel to Espresso and was also a great bop. However, the song includes one explicit line which proved to be a problem for a mother, leading to Carpenter apologizing to her.
Sabrina Carpenter Apologizes As TikToker’s Son Mouths Explicit Line From Her New Song
Sabrina Carpenter is on a roll with her new singles from her new album Short n’ Sweet. Espresso is already a rage on social media and people are obsessed with the song. Carpenter recently released the second single from the album titled Please Please Please along with the music video for it where she co-stars alongside Barry Keoghan.
The song which talks about falling for an actor and requesting him to not let her down includes an explicit line where Carpenter says, “I beg you, don’t embarrass me, motherf*cker”. On TikTok, the line became a nightmare for one of a mother who was humming. As she reaches the line mentioned above, her son mouths the explicit word in it.
Carpenter saw the video and immediately apologized to the TikToker, while also reminding her that she dropped the clean version of the song (via Pop Base). The singer replied on her video saying, “just dropped the clean version I am so sorry”. The mother’s shocked reaction to her son’s actions is hilarious and she even got back at Carpenter, telling her that it is okay as long as her son hums the song at home.

Sabrina Carpenter Calls Her Boyfriend Barry Keoghan ‘Magic’ On-Screen
Sabrina Carpenter recently released the muso video for her new single Please Please Please from her upcoming album Short n’ Sweet. The music video features her boyfriend Barry Keoghan as an ex-convict who has been released from prison but ends up in jail frequently as he engages himself in violent brawls.
In an interview with Vogue, Carpenter pointed out how the song and its music video is a sequel to Espresso. She was very attracted to the narrative presented in the music video and she was lucky to get Keoghan, who according to her, is magic on-screen. Carpenter said,
I ended the last video getting arrested, so naturally, I thought it would be satisfying to start the ‘Please Please Please’ video in jail. I liked the idea of falling in love with a convict and being shocked and embarrassed every time he commits crimes. I was sooo lucky to get Barry Keoghan in the video ’cause he is just magic on screen.
The music video has vibes of Natural Born Killers and True Romance where two young lovers are bonded amidst questionable actions in a crime-ridden world. Carpenter’s album Short n’ Sweet is scheduled to be released on August 23, 2024. Fans can listen to its two singles on any music service like Spotify or Apple Music.
