Fans of the franchise finally know the release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and are very excited about what has been shown in the latest videos and trailers. In a recent interview, those in charge of the game gave several details about what this title will have compared to previous installments.
Apparently, like in MW3, players will have access to the well-known feature called Overkill, which allows the use of two primary weapons simultaneously. Many players disagree with this, as it significantly unbalances the multiplayer mode.

After an incredible presentation once the Xbox Games Showcase ended, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 became one of the most anticipated games of the year for fans. The franchise needed a more solid game after the resounding failure of Modern Warfare 3. This new game promises all sorts of content, such as a solid story mode that players can’t wait to try. Additionally, the title introduced various changes in character movements.
In a recent interview with VentureBeat, the developers of this title talked about various details that will be part of the new multiplayer gameplay. Treyarch confirmed that a well-known perk from the entire franchise will return in this game. Overkill will be one of the perks available from the start. Some fans are not too pleased about this, as it makes some matches very unbalanced.
Continuing the Franchise’s Legacy After Being Present in MW3, Overkill Is Back
![The game will be released on October 25.](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/19092145/Call-of-Duty-Black-Ops-6-MW3-Treyarch-1-1024x576.jpg)
Overkill is a pretty classic perk in the saga, where the player is allowed to use two primary weapons in any class they want. This could be very unfair in multiplayer matches; for example, a player could have two different assault rifles or even two shotguns to make life miserable for other players. But over time, the community has found ways to balance this with other types of classes to use.
Design director Matt Scronce said the following about this perk: “You’re talking about being able to carry two primary weapons? I can tell you that will be a wild card. That’s a decision. If you’re that type of player, you can choose that wild card. But that means you’ll have to forgo another type of wild card.” This means that players can select to use this perk or other options in multiplayer matches.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will arrive on October 25th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. Additionally, for the first time in history, this game will be available on Day 1 on Game Pass, testing a very risky strategy for Activision and Microsoft. The videos have shown a promising amount of content in this title. Players are excited to see the zombie mode, multiplayer, or even play the story mode.
