There is no denying that The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, is a masterpiece in the DC world. This movie revealed an aspect of the Twilight actor that many had not seen before. But in addition to Pattinson, this film also elevated Irish actor Colin Farrell, whose performance as The Penguin/ Oswald Cobblepot, added thrill, humor, and depth to the three-hour movie.

Therefore, the announcement that Ferrell would be starring in his own series centered on the titular character glued fans to their seats. The first teaser for the series debuted in March and gave viewers a brief introduction to Ferrell’s character, Penguin. The latest trailer further establishes the tone of Matt Reeves’ upcoming creation by taking inspiration from his work done in Pattinson’s The Batman.

The Penguin is set to be the first spinoff of The Batman and would detail how Gotham City’s organized crime operates. This would be an addition to Matt Reeves’ interpretation of the Batverse, which is distinct from the new DC universe that Peter Safran and James Gunn are developing.
The new trailer for the upcoming series was dropped on X by Discussing Film, and fans are so pumped up about the upcoming September release of the show on Max, with one fan adding
So hyped for this one. Definitely gives off the same vibes as The Batman and we are sooooo here for that.

The trailer featured an amazing cast and stunning cinematography, but it also had an overall tone that was very similar to the Lift directors’ vision for The Batman. The trailer depicted a gripping super noir and a dark tone that many fans immediately connected to the Robert Pattinson starer. Thus, putting the biggest fan-favorite question of how similar it will be to Matt Reeves’ Batman universe to rest, at least for now.
The show would be a continuation of The Batman, released in 2022, and would cover the events that transpired in Gotham, thereafter, bringing the story all the way to The Batman, Part 2, which is reportedly scheduled for release in 2026. While the eight-episode series is still three months away, the trailer has given the fans something to hold on to in the meantime.

The remarkable duo of Colin Farrell as the actor and Matt Reeves as the filmmaker will undoubtedly work their magic on screen. Fans were quick to spot the similarities between the Farrell starrer’s and The Batman’s camera angles, which gave off a somber Sopranos and Scarface vibe as soon as the trailer dropped. They also applauded the fantastic graphics and shots.
I love the camera work in these shots. I can’t wait for this thing to come out🔥 pic.twitter.com/CQWWSPVwwx

A crime drama dc show from a villain is something we’ve never seen before and this trailer alone shows that having penguin take the spotlight can give us something unique.

Adding to that, a few admirers mentioned that it has never been tried out this way before: having a villain portray a protagonist. Additionally, that viewers would be introduced to a rather novel idea by the trailer, which highlights Farrell’s character, Penguin. However, some fans developed their own conclusions after viewing the video. One fan claimed that he felt strongly that Robert Pattinson would show up around the end of the series’ last episode.
Omg this looks super good I have this feeling that Batman is going to make an appearance at the end of the final episode 😮💨🔥 pic.twitter.com/Mww8szUewg
