The One Piece fandom is having the time of its life with the manga, anime, and live-action series all proving to be a roller coaster ride of thrill. Each chapter and episode brings about a sense of anticipation and the live-action’s second season becomes nearer to its release as time goes by. The second season’s filming has progressed blissfully with the third’s set to follow suit.

The upcoming seasons will feature new cast members, some of whom will make it into the Straw Hat Pirates as well. However, the main cast that fans have long since familiarised themselves with set about this faith that whoever may be cast in the future, great thought and care would be put into it. No casting decision has disappointed fans and most of all, be it Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, or even Emily Rudd.
Mackenyu’s Blunder
During an interview with Netflix Philippines, the One Piece cast was made to play the Telephone Game. As the game progressed, the phrase that needed to be passed down was one directly promoting their show and rather simple. ‘One Piece is now streaming on Netflix.’ The phrase in itself would be extremely difficult to mess up but Mackenyu did it anyway.

Netflix is now streaming on Netflix.
The actor, in the most Zoro fashion possible, messed up the phrase, instead repeating Netflix twice. Funnily enough, he didn’t even realize his mistake until the rest of them pointed it out. Taz Skylar, proving to be the perfect Sanji, went about bantering with the actor while the rest of them tried to find any sense in his sentence.
Fans too seemed to find this exact moment as the accurate representation of the Straw Hat Pirates. It has been said several times prior that the casting choice for the One Piece live-action was stunningly accurate and such moments only prove this claim more and more.
Fans Find Their Perfect Zoro

Upon seeing Mackenyu’s little fumble, fans can’t stop comparing him to Zoro. His lack of direction were more than similar to the actor’s own misdirection of words. While Zoro may get lots all the time, Mackenyu turned out to be no less. On top of that, Taz Skylar’s reaction only fed into the Zoro-Sanji rivalry fans adore.
He's the real Zoro. He forgot what to say, like if someone tell Zorowhere he must go

He got Zoro's lost sense of direction in real life. They nailed the actor. Amazing

That something that Zoro would say

Average Zoro moment 🤷🏽♂️🤣

Mackenyu irl is more Zoro then his Zoro on the series.

He talked about how bizarre it was for Mackenyu to have messed up something like that while the actor absorbed his own mistake. The comparison is right in front of the fans’ eyes, making it more possible for them to accept him as Zoro than they already did. Not only is he an incredible choice for the character but also that he might as well be Zoro come to life.
Each and every actor’s reaction was on point to their own characters, making it more and more uncanny.
One Piece is available to watch on Netflix.
