According to the Forza Horizon team, important changes are coming to the popular racing franchise, particularly for players who have access to it through Xbox Game Pass. Sadly, Forza Horizon 4 will be delisted from digital storefronts on December 15.
This means that it won’t be available for purchase on the Microsoft or Steam store after the said date. However, players who already own the game, whether that be through purchase or Xbox subscription service will still be able to download it and play, including online modes and features.

While Forza Horizon 4 will disappear from stores in December, there is still a chance to get the game, and for free. In a surprising move, Microsoft is offering some Xbox Game Pass subscribers a free copy of the 2018 racing game.
Apparently, only subscribers who previously purchased downloadable content (DLC) for the game are eligible. To receive the free game, players must have had an active, full-priced (not a promotional offer) subscription on June 25, 2024.
If you meet these criteria, a game token will be sent to players’ Xbox message center in the coming days. It’s important to note that these tokens will expire after June 25, 2026, so be sure to redeem yours before then. Unfortunately, there is a catch to this.
The DLC content is no longer available for purchase separately as all DLCs were delisted from platforms on June 25, 2024. Only Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions of the game are currently available for purchase. It might take some time for everyone to receive game tokens. Moreover, if the codes aren’t functioning players are advised to contact the support.

While delisting isn’t a complete surprise since the previous installment was delisted back in 2020, fans have mixed reactions to the news and are finding ways to get a version of the game.
One fan has praised the developers saying that this is a great way to take care of players who still want to play the game.
Another fan added that he bought a single car for as low as possible and he got a free copy of the game.
Furthermore, one player asked what is the cheapest DLC, but unfortunately, he faced the harsh reality of DLCs already removed.
The debate goes on saying that it was evil of Microsoft to offer the free game only through the full-priced subscription service.
A ton of confirmation comments have already been made by fans who have received codes for the free game and are praising the campaign move.
