House of the Dragon Star Is Joining Michelle Yeoh’s Blade Runner 2099!
Back in 1982, Harrison Ford starred in the film Blade Runner. Ryan Gosling starred in the 2017 sequel titled Blade Runner 2049, and both films were considered average despite great ratings.
To revive the franchise, a miniseries was announced and veteran actress Michelle Yeoh (from Everything Everywhere All At Once fame) and Hunter Schafer (from Euphoria fame) became a part of the series.
On the other hand, actor Matthew Needham, who portrayed the role of Larys Strong, found critical acclaim in House of the Dragon. Well, recent news allegedly confirms that Needham will also join Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer in the upcoming TV miniseries, Blade Runner 2099!

When they were filming Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2, Michelle Yeoh had the idea that she could be one of the villains in the iconic movie. Well, in an interview with Town & Country cover story, Yeoh revealed that Tarantino had some high regards for the Malaysian actress!
He’s very smart. He said, ‘Who would believe that Uma Thurman could kick your a*s?’
She further continued,
I must say, Quentin, he’s persistent. He is who he is today because he’s full of passion and love, so he wore me down. Suddenly we became animated. So then I thought, ‘Maybe I’m not ready to give up on this’.
It was because of Tarantino that Michelle Yeoh went on to win an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role in the 2022 film Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Yeoh was last seen in the 2024 Netflix series The Brothers Sun, which got canceled after 8 episodes. On the other hand, Yeoh’s upcoming Blade Runner 2099 has been hyped up by fans for quite some time, but a release date has not been revealed yet.
