Recently on Reddit, a user shared how they played the game a couple of months ago and quickly abandoned it because it was full of bugs. Apparently, he tried playing again but found worse bugs and performance issues than before and abandoned the title once more.

Starfield Did Not Turn Out to Be the Game Fans Were Expecting

Despite years of promotion positioning Starfield as one of Bethesda’s most important games, it failed to meet the players’ expectations. This title didn’t receive bad scores, but it wasn’t even considered one of the games of the year when it was released in 2023. Even so, many players were able to enjoy this experience and are awaiting its downloadable content, which will come this year.

A player posted on Reddit about their experience with this title, saying that they had downloaded it a few months ago and could hardly play it due to bugs and various issues.

Played for the first couple months and the glitches and crashes drove me crazy…today, I redownloaded the game!

This user added that they tried downloading and playing it again to see if the studio had fixed these concerns, only to find that the result was the same, and they even encountered more issues that they hadn’t noticed before.

Bethesda Should Pay Attention to These Kinds of Testimonials

In this post, the user quickly criticized the studio, asking when they would make this game generally playable. Apparently, their poor gameplay experience does not help put this game in a better place with its players who encounter these annoying bugs. Responses came quickly, with another user commenting that this is why Game Pass exists—to try out these types of titles before buying them and being disappointed.

Another thing this user mentioned is that the game didn’t even have audio, indicating that the performance issues are much deeper than they appear. Clearly, this problem appears to be much more serious than just game performance.

This user didn’t provide many details about where they were playing or what type of hardware he was using. But even so, the studio does not come off well in this complaint.

For its part, Bethesda confirmed that the downloadable content for Starfield, Shattered Space, will arrive before the end of the year. This DLC will add more story to the main plot of the title, along with other features that the community has been constantly requesting.

The studio has already confirmed several projects for the coming years, but they should still consider improving the quality of their titles, especially in terms of performance.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
