Attention to detail is what defines the upcoming Dragon Ball game the best. But perfection, as they say, is hard to come by and developers have missed some instances that fans certainly aren’t happy about. Vegeta, during his Great Ape transformation, was missing a tail.

There seems to be a difference between the trailer for the game and the actual gameplay. Developers should give this some thought, as players wouldn’t want to be deceived by a trailer. They certainly want what they see.

Battle-damaged scouter Vegeta is missing a tail in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, and he can still transform.

It seems the developers are making the same mistake as Budokai Tenkaichi 3. The predecessor to the game featured a transformation of a version of the Saiyan Prince like this.

This sparked a conversation on the social network Reddit, where fans were hoping the developers would notice this and fix the issue:

It has been well-known that the community is likely to point things out when a game doesn’t do justice to what they witnessed in the trailer.

They must be hoping that Sparking Zero will be more than what it’s marketing. If not, Bandai Namco should rise above it before the game finally hits the shelves.

That Great Ape Comes With Certain Conditions of Transformation

We saw the monstrous Great Ape transformation during episode 13 dubbed ‘The Legend of Goku’ on Dragon Ball for the first time, where Goku, as a child, breaks through the ceiling of Emperor Pilaf’s castle. This instance happens when exposed to the moon.

It requires certain conditions to be met to attain the transformation and a tail is one pivotal aspect of this. A Saiyan with a tail would need to absorb 17 million Zenos of Blutz Waves through their retina, which eventually causes a reaction in the tail, transforming them into the Great Ape.

Saiyans from Earth like Goku and Gohan don’t seem to have the transformation under their control. However, others from the Saiyan race we saw in the anime including Bardock and Vegeta appear to be under perfect control.

If Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero fans are calling the game peak already, then Spike Chunsoft should do justice to those feelings by staying true to the anime. The game will arrive in October 2024 and that gives ample time to work on it.
