Battles against Automatons in Helldivers 2 can often get overwhelming and their overpowered nature is the reason why many players prefer to fight against Terminids. Arrowhead Game Studios needs to rework Automaton units, particularly the Rocket Devastators and Gunships since these units are too powerful.

Rocket Devastators and Gunships can be very difficult to deal with, especially when they fire a barrage of rockets. Helldivers are tired of this and want Arrowhead to put a limit on their rockets. Fortunately, these units are not invincible, and by targeting their weakness, one can easily take them down.

A viral post on the r/Helldivers2 subreddit puts the spotlight on a major issue in Helldivers 2 that completely ruins the gaming experience. On higher difficulty levels, it can often be very difficult to defeat a Rocket Devastator due to its overpowered nature.

The same problem has been observed with Gunships. The difficulty level is certainly a part of the gaming experience but sometimes it gets frustrating. All these reasons explain why most of the Helldivers 2 fanbase prefers to play Terminid missions.

It is also very difficult to use stim when Automatons are shooting bullets or firing rockets. On top of this, the ragdoll animation makes it even worse. To solve this problem, players have been asking Arrowhead to reduce flinch and ragdoll at least for heavy armor.

How To Take Down Rocket Devastators?

When a Rocket Devastator enters the battlefield, players need to make sure that they take them down first, mainly because can easily one-hit-kill players or reduce significant health. A lot of players still don’t know that after Patch 01.000.100, Rocket Devastators are capable of tracking Helldivers behind the cover as long as they remain within the Devastator’s effective range.

The Rocket Devastators have unarmored Rocket pods that can be taken out. With the pods destroyed, the rocket devastator turns into a normal devastator, making things much easier.

As for Gunships, Stratagems like LAS-99 Quasar Cannon or FAF-14 Spear can easily take them down. Arrowhead can make some changes to these units by either increasing their reload time or limiting their rockets.

It is no secret that Helldivers 2 is slowly losing its fanbase and a lack of content can be partly blamed for it. It desperately needs a major update since many players have complained that the game has become dull and repetitive.
