While Kaley Cuoco and Co. didn’t fail to make fans laugh with their comedy in The Big Bang Theory, for the cast, it wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows behind the scenes, especially Cuoco. From sustaining a leg injury during horseriding to reportedly undergoing an overwhelming break-up with Henry Cavill, she has had her fair share of rough experiences in the past decade.
However, the actress’ most distressing situation was her split up with Karl Cook in 2022, and her commitment to another show at the time didn’t help ameliorate things.
Kaley Cuoco’s Public Divorce Took a Toll on Her
One of the major reasons that reportedly influenced her break-up with Henry Cavill was the unwanted public attention, which was a result of Cavill’s rise to stardom, thanks to Man of Steel. So it’s reasonable to see why a public divorce ended up taking a major toll on Kaley Cuoco, as the year following the split was super dark for The Flight Attendant star.
Moreover, considering her character in The Flight Attendant was going through a similar emotional turmoil, it aggravated her situation to the point that Cuoco developed rashes, which made walking difficult for her. She told Variety:
Going through my divorce, it was really a super dark time. I just didn’t know how to deal with it. I was throwing myself into work to deny my depression, and how upset I was. Unfortunately, the character was so depressed that it wasn’t helping me! I was really, really, really struggling. A lot of tears.
But this wasn’t the lone thing that bothered the Penny actor, as Cuoco also wasn’t a fan of how things concluded for her TBBT character.
Kaley Cuoco Was Against Penny Getting Pregnant in TBBT
While Kaley Cuoco found what the writers did with Penny in the end cute, the actress herself wasn’t a fan of Penny’s surprise pregnancy. The Based on a True Story star wished Penny wasn’t pregnant at the end of the series, as she loved the message of her not wanting kids.
She said (via Screen Rant)):
I actually wished that they did not [make Penny pregnant], because I loved that message [of Penny not wanting kids] so much. It was cute how the writers did it at the end with Penny’s surprise pregnancy, and all in all I’m glad, but I was actually voting for her not to [get pregnant].
Apart from these few instances, the actress also sustained a major blow to the leg after her horse fell on it, but fortunately, she recovered from that in no time.
