In a recent Reddit post, a user submitted something quite interesting, which would bring the saga much closer to modern times, leaving behind the concept of traveling to very ancient periods. These modern conflicts have a ton of content and background to offer and would likely be better received by the fans.

Just Like Call of Duty, This Period of History Is More Than Fascinating to Portray

This particular user was referring to the Cold War. This conflict never fully materialized.

An Assassin’s Creed game would find this conflict to be highly captivating. Call of Duty has already adopted this era and done quite well in several of its titles.

In the Assassin’s Creed saga, the protagonist could be a spy who must adapt to infiltrate enemy territory to prevent armed conflicts from escalating to an irreversible point.

One thing that this franchise has not yet dared to do is set a game in a more modern era that doesn’t involve traveling to the distant past. Various fans of the IP have been asking about these kinds of more modern-era games.

For now, Ubisoft is focusing on successfully launching Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This game will arrive in October and will finally allow players to try out a feudal Japan title set.

The game will feature two protagonists, a shinobi known as Naoe, and the samurai Yasuke, who will fight in different ways to achieve a common goal. The franchise needs a more solid game to regain the faith of its fans.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
