Sony Interactive Entertainment did not hold back during the PlayStation 4 era and got the ball rolling with a flurry of triple-A, high-quality, first-party games from various studios. The Uncharted series grew and so did the fan base and the developers are casually showing off with the final entry.

Sony Interactive Entertainment was ahead of its time with its strong lineup of first-party games. The live-action adaptation finally escaped development hell and saw the light of day, Tom Holland stars as Nathan Drake and shared a funny story of how this project came to be and it turns out Holland was playing Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End while working on a film and was enamored by the franchise.

The film did fairly well despite the backlash from the gaming community which is a testament to the brand name. The fourth entry was the final chapter for Drake and the developers fired on all cylinders in every aspect from gameplay, graphics, and physics, it was the best at the time.

Naughty Dog are leaders in this craft and each project looks more realistic than the previous games. The gore and dismemberment mechanics in The Last of Us Part 2 are the closest the gaming community will ever get to an immersive gaming experience and make the players feel the realism of each combat encounter.

The talent of the developers has no bounds and could make anything out of anything. The visual and graphical leap between the last Uncharted game and the original The Last of Us on the PlayStation 3 to the PlayStation 4 era was massive and shows how far the studio has come from a technical standpoint.

Fans were overwhelmed to see how far the studio has come and people were impressed to see this game run well and at a stable rate on a base PS4. The game looks and runs even better on next-generation hardware and PC but the PlayStation 4 is still a decent option to experience this epic adventure.

Sony set the standard and each project was a cut above the rest. Naughty Dog even added a cool easter egg from Uncharted 3 to The Last of Us and it is a testament to the studio’s casual attention to detail.

Naughty Dog wanted to honor older projects in any way shape or form and succeeded by sprinkling references. The fans are spoiled with a great story paired with great physics and mechanics.
