Since its release on June 30th, The First Descendant has managed to create a large community of players in just a few days. This title is a third-person action shooter very similar to Destiny 2, allowing for PvE combat with various types of abilities and weapons players can acquire as they progress.

Some players fear the game’s director might nerf certain builds in the upcoming days, but he has clarified this won’t happen and even acknowledged the superiority of these characters.

With moderate but positive success, The First Descendant has become a new third-person action game with decent looter shooter mechanics. Active players testing this new title have a few complaints but are generally pleased with the various mechanics presented.

There are already several characters considered meta due to their powers and combinations of certain weapons that make them even stronger.

One build, in particular, is becoming very popular in the game, combining the Tamer weapon with the character Gley. This combination has become quite popular due to its ability to have infinite magazines, making it highly lethal for any enemy type.

Because of this, the community fears the studio might make some changes. Fortunately, the game’s director confirmed this wouldn’t happen.

The director of The First Descendant, Minseok Joo, clarified in a recent post on the game’s official page that there wouldn’t be adjustments to this specific build. He even added that the development team knew this build would be quite popular among players due to its high damage output.

His specific words when talking about adjusting the build is that there are “no immediate plans to do so.” That the team recognizes what works for the community and doesn’t change it, is beneficial.

In the comments on this update, the director continued to say that other weapons can reach the level of this specific build without needing to use Gley as the character to combine with them.

This implies that the game still has much potential for the community to discover, and eventually, another meta will become the main gameplay choice for all players to use to eliminate enemies.

The game has already had several player complaints about minor aspects, but overall, The First Descendant has received quite positive feedback from the community. Now only time will tell if Nexon can maintain the game’s popularity by adding new content periodically.

The first few months are crucial for a game as a service because if it doesn’t perform well, the lack of players will become apparent quickly. What are your thoughts on this build? Does it need a nerf, or are you glad it won’t be changed? Let us know in the comments!

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
