Helldivers 2 is undoubtedly one of the most popular co-op video games in the world right now but it seems like some players are forgetting that it is not a PvP game. A player recently put a spotlight on this issue that a certain part of the player base has come up with a game mode called “Last Man Standing.”

If some players find this game mode fascinating then they should certainly try it out but only with their friends and not with random teammates. It’s frustrating when you get team killed unnecessarily in a game like Helldivers 2, which heavily emphasizes how important teamwork is.

Some Helldivers 2 players have come up with an unofficial game mode called “Last Man Standing” but it has made the community much more toxic. In a viral Reddit post on r/Helldivers2, a player has highlighted how frustrating it is to get team killed by random players who want to play Last Man Standing.

Here is an explanation in case you’re wondering what Last Man Standing is exactly: After completing a mission, players call for evac but then every squad member attempts to wipe out their teammates and the last person alive gets to extract.

There is a reason why PvP mode doesn’t exist in the game. The Chief Creative of Arrowhead Game Studios, Johan Pilestedt, has made it clear in the past that they will never add PvP to Helldivers 2 to reduce “toxic elements” from the community.

The community obviously had a negative reaction as this game mode is just dumb and even if one wishes to try out it out, they should do it in a private session with their friends.

Helldivers 2 is all about teamwork. Every mission in the game is designed in ways through which players can enjoy a PvE experience with their friends or strangers but this game mode just ruins the entire gaming experience.

Helldivers 2 has certainly become quite repetitive and dull so it makes sense why some players like to try out such game modes but ruining the experience for everyone else just damages the game’s reputation, stopping many new players from trying it out.

It’s not only a lack of content that is slowly killing Helldivers 2, it is also the toxicity within the community. In the past, the community has bashed many players for unnecessary team-killing.

On top of this, the unnecessary criticism also does nothing apart from demotivating developers at Arrowhead Game Studios. The studios have huge plans for the game, players just need to be patient.
