A new loadout proposal has been making waves in the Helldivers 2 community, and it’s so toxic, it might just make the bugs wish they never crawled out of their holes.
Redditor u/Yurishenko94 has taken to the official r/Helldivers subreddit with a post titled “Hello Arrowhead. My name is Fritz Haber and we need to talk…”, and it’s causing quite the stir among players.
Father of Toxic Gas and Chemical Warfare
For those not in the know, Fritz Haber was a German chemist who pioneered the use of chemical weapons during World War I. And now, it seems his spirit lives on in the form of Yurishenko94’s proposed loadout for Helldivers 2:

The video, set to the tune of Sabaton’s “Father”, showcases a range of Stratagems, an Armor, and a special Grenade that revolves around the idea of overpowering the enemy with “sheer toxicity.” And let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to see those pesky Terminids collapse in a cloud of green gas?

Sure, gassing the galaxy into submission sounds like a blast, but let’s not forget what makes Helldivers 2 truly special: the bonds we forge as we fight side by side, the laughter amidst the chaos, and the satisfaction of knowing that no matter what, our fellow Helldivers are always there for us (friendly fire notwithstanding).
The Meta to End All Meta’s
But here’s the thing: Yurishenko94’s suggested loadout is so overpowered, it would render every other meta in Helldivers 2 obsolete. The “CBRN Protection” trait on the Armor alone, which grants complete immunity to gas damage and 25% resistance to acid damage, is enough to make any Helldiver drool.
And let’s not forget the prospect of a “Gasthrower” (a callback to the TOX-13 Avenger from the original Helldivers) and a Gas Grenade Launcher. Imagine engulfing an entire planet in a deadly green mist, watching the bugs drop like flies. It’s a sight that every Helldiver wants to see sooner rather than later.
But alas, it’s precisely because this loadout is so game-breakingly powerful that game director Johan Pilestedt is unlikely to implement it. After all, where’s the fun in a game where you can just gas your way to victory?
Currently, the only Gas-related Stratagem in Helldivers 2 is the Orbital Gas Strike, which is actually one of the more underused and underrated options. But if Yurishenko94’s vision were to become a reality, it would be the only Orbital Stratagem anyone ever used!

While we’re unlikely to see this exact loadout in the game, it’s always entertaining to speculate and dream up new ways to spread democracy and the message of freedom across the galaxy.
And who knows? Maybe Johan Pilestedt will surprise us all and give us the gas-powered meta we never knew we needed.
