Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger have been married since 2019 and have been building a life together. They have children and have laid the foundations of a future together. However, when someone is a public figure, it is difficult for them to move forward in their lives with the world bringing up their past. When the pair announced the birth of their first daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt, they ended up stirring some controversy.

The world started to accuse the actor of horrible things. So much so, that he felt the need to point it out and talk about it during an interview.

Chris Pratt Was Accused Of Shading His Ex-Wife In The Worst of Ways

While a fan-following is all but guaranteed when they are entering the gilded gates of Hollywood, things can often go south when they become toxic. Every celebrity, at some point, has had an unfortunate encounter with a fan. Tom Holland was once forced to watch as a ‘protective’ fan insulted Anthony Mackie at a convention in a room full of people.

Selena Gomez had to tell her fans to stop bullying Hailey Bieber online when they took things too far in trying to ‘defend her honor’. Chris Pratt, unfortunately, has also had an encounter with such fans.  After the birth of his first daughter with Katherine Schwarzenegger, Pratt made a post online, in which he thanked his wife for giving him a healthy daughter.

While the post was harmless in every way, many thought that the actor was throwing shade at his ex-wife, Anna Faris. Pratt and she were married for nine years before separating in 2018, sharing joint custody of their son, Jack. Since their son suffered a cerebral hemorrhage after being born premature, many thought that the ‘healthy’ comment was a way to shade his ex-wife.

While the accusation is cruel in every way possible, it is also really odd considering how both actors were on good terms after their split.

Chris Pratt Could Not Believe What Was Being Said About Him

One can only assume what it would have been like for Chris Pratt to have been accused of such heinous things by the masses. During an interview with Men’s Health Magazine, the actor addressed the entire situation, talking about how deeply it affected him and those he was close to.

I said something like, ‘Find someone who looks at you the way my wife looks at me.’ And then I gave her some shit in the thing and said, ‘But I love you. I’m so thankful for my wife — she gave me a beautiful, healthy daughter.

And then a bunch of articles came out and said, ‘That’s so cringeworthy. I can’t believe Chris Pratt would thank her for a healthy daughter when his first child was born premature. That’s such a dig at his ex-wife.

Pratt did not see the backlash coming in the slightest. He did not expect that anyone would say such things, and he was genuinely surprised when people started to accuse him of shaming his ex-wife about his son. Thinking about how such conversations would affect his son, the actor was furious.

My son’s gonna read that one day. He’s nine. And it’s etched in digital stone. It really f*cking bothered me, dude. I cried about it. I was like, I hate that these blessings in my life are — to the people close to me— a real burden.

He mentioned how his son would end up reading these conversations someday and feel horrible about so many things he had no control over. Naturally, the realizations made him deeply emotional, revealing that he even cried quite a lot because of them. The entire situation made him also learn that every good news in his life will be tied together with the brutal perceptions of the media.
