Valorant was released in 2020 only on PC. Hence, console players have always been exempted from this exciting 5v5 title. But after four years of waiting, things are finally changing. In the latest Summer Game Fest, it was announced that this fan-favorite shooter will be available on consoles from June 14, 2024.

However, the game is right now in a limited beta phase. And as of now, there is no confirmation on when the game is going to be fully accessible to all console players. The game is destined to be the same for PC and console players, but is that really the case?

Recently, a new Valorant fan has started playing the console. Just like any other newbie, the player has posted on Reddit asking for advice about what character he should play next. As of now, the player is maining Omen and is enjoying the smoke and aggressive teleports of the agent. He played Iso well but didn’t have any clues about playing Jett and Raze.

Actually, playing these two Duelists is going to be pretty tough on controllers, as these two agents demand extremely precise aim and reflex. Both Jett and Raze are based on swift movement, the former with her dash and the latter with her satchels. So, it’s not just aiming your crosshair; it’s about maintaining that along with super-fast movements.

Also, a mouse is a superior way to aim in games like Valorant than a controller’s joystick. A modern mouse supports high DPI, which helps in playing scenarios where smooth sensitivity and quick reflexes are key. Controllers are a great way to play games for casual sessions, but when it’s about hardcore competitive gameplay, there’s no match for mouse in games like these shooters.

PC players are more familiar with the agents of the game. As of now, the player is thinking of playing Viper and Harbour, and as a new player, these two agents might suit the playing style of console controllers because they are easier to handle than Duelists.

Is Valorant Different on Consoles and PCs?

Riot has aimed to make the games the same for both platforms. But it’s pretty hard to balance out the mechanics on both the versions due to different controlling systems. On PC, like any other shooter, this game also features ADS, which is crucial in taking long-range fights. Now, maintaining smooth sensitivity is quite difficult for controllers.

That’s why Riot has put a Focus Mode in the console version of the game. This is not going to be as precise as the ADS, but it will be way more effective than hip fire. Since hipfiring on PC is a lot smoother, in order to balance out this disadvantage on console, the mode is here to help.

There is also no option to remake or surrender in the console version of the game. However, this option is temporarily removed due to a severe glitch in which the game gets frizzed and none of the keys work anymore unless and until you restart your system. The developers have assured to bring back the feature in the 9.02 patch.
