The Flash started strong with a massive fanbase rooting for the Scarlet Speedster in the CW show. After being introduced as Barry Allen in Arrow, Grant Gustin became a household name for his contribution to DC’s Arrowverse. However, it did not take long before The Flash went downhill and become a butt of a joke due to numerous reasons.

It has been more than a year since we finally saw Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster. But it seems like fans still cannot get over some of the most atrocious visuals from the show. Recently, as a clip from The Flash‘s Season 7 went viral, numerous fans claimed that the quality is comparable to the old Power Rangers action scenes.

From laughable CGI to disappointing storylines, many significant reasons contributed to the downfall of The Flash. Although Grant Gustin became a fan-favorite version of the Fastest Man Alive, the quality of the show fell so bad, that most of the fandom still denies its existence beyond the first three seasons.

In a recent Instagram post, the fans got to see a clip from The Flash‘s Season 7 finale where the Flash family clashed against the Godspeed clones. It cannot be denied that the CW show did not get the desired budget to pull off incredible CGI shots. However, the fight sequence is staged so badly, that several fans stated that it is not even worthy to be compared to Power Rangers.

When the Arrowverse first kicked off, it garnered widespread praise and boasted a massive potential. Additionally, the failing DCEU also made everyone believe in the CW’s DC Universe. Sadly, as evident from the Instagram comments of the recent video, the fans can never forgive the atrocities committed by the series in its later seasons. Many people commented that the video perfectly summarizes why they had to drop the series.

‘When did the show became this bad’

‘This is exactly why I dropped the show’

‘Don’t do power rangers dirty like that’

‘The downfall of this show gotta be studied, it used to be so good’

It is both hilarious and sad that some viewers were even offended that the action scene was compared to Power Rangers. They admitted that even the old and weak CGI of the Hasbro franchise looked better than whatever the Flash family was doing to get their Avengers moment.

Can Grant Gustin ever return as the Fastest Man Alive?

Even after the atrocities committed by The Flash, it cannot be denied that Grant Gustin took a commendable take on the superhero. It would also be a lie to deny that Gustin carried a massive part of the show on his shoulders when it fell hard. With none of the OG Justice League set to reprise their roles in James Gunn‘s new DCU, many fans want Gustin to be the next big-screen Flash.

Earlier this year, the 34-year-old actor also stated (via Comicbook) that he is willing to be the Scarlet Speedster again if James Gunn wants him to.

Yeah, if James Gunn asked me to play The Flash, I would do it again. I trust James Gunn.

On the other hand, Gunn has also spoken positively about the actor and has expressed his wish to work with him in the future. Speaking with The Wrap, the Glee actor added that recently he also exchanged DMs about the upcoming Superman but did not have any conversation about Flash.

It is also very unlikely for Gunn to cast Gustin as Flash as he is trying to set up a fresh universe. It will be exciting to see if we can spot him in any other role in the DCU.

The Flash can be streamed on Netflix.
