Four years after its release, Valorant has finally landed on consoles. In the recently concluded Summer Game Fest, Riot Games announced that players would be enjoying this 5v5 shooter on their consoles starting June 14, 2024.

Riot has aimed to make the game the same on both PC and console, however, that aim is far from reality now. Besides the huge skill gap between players on PC and consoles, there is one major concern that is bothering players the most.

Console Players Are Begging to Make a Fix for Leavers in Valorant

Recently, a Valorant player on console took to Reddit and vented his disgust regarding the throwers and leavers in matches. He stated that he played three games in a row where players on his team were leaving every match.

That’s why this fan has asked Riot to make the punishment for deliberate leavers a bit stricter. Right now, if a player leaves a match deliberately on repeated occasions, Riot deducts a mere RR from their ELO rating. Sometimes those players are banned as well, but those are limited, and they come back when the ban expires.

However, a fan in the comment section of that Reddit post felt the same pain. As a PC player, this fan has been facing the leavers too, and he has been “complaining about it for ages.”

On the other hand, there’s another issue that console fans are facing. Right now, the game doesn’t feature the option to remake or surrender matches. That’s why, when a player leaves a match for no reason, console players have to carry despite being outnumbered by the enemy team.

Why Doesn’t the Console Version Feature the Remake or Surrender Option?

Initially, the console version of the game did have this feature. But later on, it started showing a strange bug. In order to complete a remake or surrender process, players have to vote out their opinions to exit the match.

And that’s where all the problems began. If all votes are given towards remaking or surrendering a match, then there’s no problem. But if several players refuse to do so, then after the voting period is done, the game will break instantly.

That means you won’t be able to buy any weapons or utils; none of the buttons will work. Even the main menu will disappear, and if it’s still there, there’s no way you can use it.

That’s why, just four days after its launch, Riot had to remove this feature from the game on consoles.

However, the company has assured that the remake and surrender options will come back in the 9.02 patch.
