Alec Baldwin has faced a lot of troubles in his younger years, but the most recent one was the shooting incident that happened while filming Rust in 2021. The actor faced charges over the death of the movie’s cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, a case that has been dismissed by the court.
Even before this tragic event, Baldwin was already a broken man. The actor infamously had a rocky relationship with his daughter, Ireland. This got even worse because of a leaked voicemail that heard Baldwin shouting scathing remarks at her.
Alec Baldwin Once Faced Court After Insulting His 11-Year-Old Daughter
In a post shared by TMZ in 2007, Alec Baldwin lost his cool after his daughter, then 11-year-old Ireland, missed her father’s scheduled phone call. The actor sent a voicemail and angrily called the child “a rude, thoughtless little pig.” He would drop tirades on the phone saying, “I have made an a** of myself trying to get to a phone. You have insulted me for the last time.”
Baldwin would not stop at those remarks but would continue to insult his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, as well.

The controversial voicemail garnered media attention and got Baldwin’s visitation to his child suspended. The incident was sorted out in court, and a source told the outlet that the actor ultimately apologized to Ireland.
Speaking with George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America, the actor said it caused a permanent rift in his relationship with his daughter.
It’s a scab that never heals, ‘cause it’s being picked at all the time by other people. And I think my daughter, that’s hurt her in a permanent way.
The actor acknowledged that he should have been careful with how he parented his child, but he also argued that anyone close to him would know what he’s been through. Baldwin had a history of drug and alcohol addiction.
Alec Baldwin And Ireland Seemingly On Good Terms Now
It seems like Baldwin and his daughter have buried the hatchet and made peace with their past. The actor has been seen creating memories with his grandchild, Holland, Ireland’s daughter with singer André Allen Anjos. As shared on Instagram, the family went to visit the Museum of Ice Cream and they seemed very happy.
Baldwin is currently married to his second wife, Hilaria Baldwin, with whom he shares seven children.
With the apparent news that Alec and Ireland are now on good terms, the actor will still have to deal with the repercussions of the dismissed manslaughter case. Despite the court’s verdict, Baldwin may find it difficult to work on new projects as his career is already stained with so much controversy.
