Scarlett Johansson has had her fair share of disputes in the industry for example her legal battle with Disney over the day and date release of Black Widow. This year, the actress was embroiled in another dispute with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman over the voice of ChatGPT’s Sky, which sounded strikingly similar to her voice from Her.

The CEO even tweeted the word “her” while launching the model which led to Johansson taking action and placing a lawsuit against the company. In an interview with The New York Times, Johansson opened up about how angry and in disbelief she was about the whole thing. The actress had distanced herself when Altman first came to her with the offer of using her voice for the company’s new model.

She believes that it went against her core values and it was not something she wanted to associate with. However, when the whole thing blew up, she started getting messages from everyone, which made her incredibly disturbed. The Don Jon star said,

I felt I did not want to be at the forefront of that. I just felt it went against my core values. I don’t like to kiss and tell. He came to me with this and I didn’t tell anybody except my husband. I had actively avoided being a part of the conversation, which was what made it so disturbing. I was like, ‘How did I get wrapped up in this?’ It was crazy. I was so angry.

Altman has reportedly denied using Johansson’s voice in the company’s new invention and has stopped OpenAI from further using Sky’s voice. The actress is currently starring in Greg Berlanti’s rom-com Fly Me to the Moon where she stars alongside Channing Tatum.
