Valorant has always been a treat for shooting title fans. This 5v5 shooter was released in 2020 on PC. It made console fans wait for four more years to land on their favorite systems. However, the arrival of the game on consoles is not that smooth.

This Riot title has been available through a limited beta testing phase on consoles since June 14, 2024. The company may have tried making the game the same for both platforms, but there are some major differences. And it’s a huge issue for console players.

Valorant Console Fans Are Going to Miss Out on a Popular Game Mode

On July 16, Valorant announced from its official Twitter handle that the game is going to disable one fan favorite mode from all the platforms, which is Escalation. They also assured us that it would return on Patch 9.03. However, after the arrival of Patch 9.01, fans don’t have to wait for Patch 9.03 anymore.

Later on, the company announced that escalation is not going to be disabled. Instead, one of the most played modes in the game, Deathmatch, is going to be unavailable only on the console. PC players can still enjoy this mode. Riot hasn’t yet stated the exact return date of this mode, but it’s sure that the mode will be back “in the next few days.”

Popularity aside, Deathmatch is one of the most important game modes when it comes to aim practice. It also gives you the opportunity to train your reflexes, as the spawn locations of the enemy are random and can appear out of nowhere.

Also, most of the players here tend to play aggressively, so you get to develop sound knowledge as well. This is going to be a huge blow for console players, as they have just started to get a knack for the game.

What Else Console Players Are Missing in Valorant?

remake/surrender in Valorant

One of the key aspects of the game is the remake or surrender option. When one or more players leave a match before the completion of the first round, you can imply the remake option to get yourself out of the outnumbered situation and save your all-important ELO ratings as well.

Same goes for surrender as well, but this option can be triggered at any point of the match, but it will cost some of your RR, which is better than costing a huge bunch after losing in an unfavorable situation.

However, console players don’t have these luxuries, as these two options are currently disabled on their platforms. Upon triggering these options, the game on the console would freeze, and none of the keys would work.

Due to this UI bug, Riot decided to withdraw these two features temporarily. However, the company has assured to bring back these features on the console in Patch 9.02.
