Just a few months before its anticipated release, the team behind Space Marine 2 continues to reveal various details about this new game set in the Warhammer 40K universe. The title will feature a conventional story mode, a cooperative PvE mode, and a 6v6 multiplayer mode.
A recent interview with Saber Interactive, the studio in charge of the game, clarified certain details about the multiplayer choices, specifically why they opted for a 6v6 mode instead of a large battle scenario filled with enemies.
Saber Interactive Has Made a Specific Decision Regarding Space Marine 2
This game will present the Warhammer 40K universe like no other title has. This is largely due to incredible visual power combined with raw and violent gameplay.
Players will feel firsthand what it means to be an Ultramarine in this war against the deadly Tyranids. Space Marine 2 is a third-person action game that allows players to feel like they are part of the empire as one of its most accurate weapons.
In a recent interview, the studio behind the game, Saber Interactive, provided more details about their decisions regarding the multiplayer mode and why it will only be 6v6.
Oliver Hollis-Leick, the game’s creative director, talked about why the studio discarded the possibility of having a giant scenario filled with enemies, despite the large levels that the title will have. It seems that this was for the player’s benefit.

Apparently, the studio decided against creating a large, enemy-filled scenario because they wanted players to constantly pursue each other. Therefore, the studio preferred that in Space Marine 2, players could face each other in combat full of violence and brutality.
The multiplayer feature will include a cooperative PvE element, as well as the anticipated 6v6 multiplayer mode. Fortunately, fans will have plenty of content to choose from.
Knowing the community behind Warhammer 40K, Hollis-Leick decided to play it safe. The game will feature cross-platform play, enabling players to engage with a vast community.
This game promises to be one of the most detailed in this universe, as it will use the full power of Unreal Engine 5 with truly spectacular graphical quality.
Space Marine 2 will be released on September 9th for PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. Players will take on the role of the experienced Colonel Titus in his fierce war against the Tyranids.
This Ultramarine will use his entire arsenal to eliminate enemies and fight for the empire. The game has already revealed that it will feature various types of soldiers in the multiplayer mode, and fans can’t wait to try it out.
