The director of a movie can make or break it. It is important to hire someone who is both talented and well-informed about what they are trying to make. Additionally, they will always have to balance a lot of character introductions and storylines. With these requirements in mind, the list of capable people has narrowed significantly.

There have been some whispers about the return of the Russo brothers, and fans could not be happier. However, it would seem that another Marvel legend was also offered the role but declined.

The Russo Brothers Return?

The Russo brothers have been immortalized in the MCU. They have single-handedly been responsible for some of the most successful projects to come out of the franchise, including Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Captain America: Civil War, and Captain America: Winter Soldier. It is not surprising that they have gone down in Marvel’s history as icons.

Knowing this, many fans were very upset to know that they would be leaving the franchise after their last Avengers film. However, recent news has raised their hopes in the best ways possible. It was recently reported by The Hollywood Reporter that the pair are in talks with Marvel Studios to direct Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars.

To say that fans are happy would be an understatement. Many names have been thrown around when it comes to the directors of the next two Marvel films, and knowing that the legends are coming back is more than a little relieving for fans.

Considering the fact that all of his works with the franchise have been massive hits, it is not surprising that he was approached to be the director of the next two Avengers films. It was reported by Deadline that Levy was approached to direct Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars.

While no official source has confirmed this, it would seem that the director was not interested in being a part of these films, as he turned down the opportunity. Instead, Levy seems to have joined another franchise altogether. Working on a film in the world of Star Wars, the director allegedly wants to focus his attention there.
