James Gunn’s Superman continues to excite fans as a new update reveals Afghan-born American actor Fahim Fazli joins on board as Jarhanpurian Villager Leader. Fans would remember him from Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man as Omar, one of the members of the Ten Rings.
The filming production for Gunn’s Superman remains underway, as the director continues to provide updates on the progress, as well as several leaked images that have made appearances on the Internet in the past few weeks.
Iron Man Star Fahim Fazli Confirms His Involvement In James Gunn’s Superman
Posting on Instagram, actor Fahim Fazli expressed his gratitude towards James Gunn for bringing him aboard the Superman team. He praised the filmmaker for his attitude towards the cast and crew members.
Dear James Gunn, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the opportunity to be the Jarhanpurian Villager Leader. I was very impressed by your directing and your kindness, not only to me but to the whole cast and crew, including the almost thousand extras.

The actor confirmed this on Instagram thanking James Gunn for the role.

Fazli may be familiar to many fans as he appeared in MCU’s Iron Man in 2008 as Omar, one of the Ten Rings soldiers who abducted and detained Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark. Now, he’s also making his debut in DCU.

It’s quite incredible to think that Fazli has become a part of the first movies that launched MCU and DCU. “This means that he’s basically the only actor to appear in the first film of the MCU and the DCU,” a fan remarked. While he had a small role in Marvel, he will have a more significant role in the upcoming DC Studios film.
He also takes pride in being the first-ever “Afghan-born American actor in Hollywood” which is indeed a huge step towards authentic representation in the cinema industry.
James Gunn Debunked Middle East Plot In Superman
Many have been expecting the Jarhanpurian Villager Leader arc to appear in the live-action movie and it is finally happening. Gunn will be bringing a lot of unexplored arcs from the comics into the big screen.
The announcement of Fahim Fazli joining Superman seems to support Gunn’s claim that the rumored plot involving a “terrorist threat in the Middle East” plot “isn’t true” as he responded.

Nonetheless, the actor’s attachment to the project teases a more complicated and intriguing storyline for the upcoming Superman film. David Corenswet leads as Clark Kent, alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.
