One of the main mechanics of the game is close combat with each enemy; additionally, this title will offer very original executions.

This title is available starting today, and the first impressions from players have already started to appear. On sites like Reddit, there are users who have already made their first complaints about the gameplay and certain designs.

There is no animation cancelling for dodging. You are stuck in your animation until it ends.

For instance, a user expresses dissatisfaction over the inability to interrupt animations until they conclude, a feature that completely undermines the Soulslike genre. This type of thing can inflict even more damage on the player.

When testing the combat, this particular user had tried the Flintlock demo and was able to see the first details of the gameplay. He goes on to express his dissatisfaction, stating that the inability to interrupt the attack forces you to wait for the enemy’s blow to pass.

He stated that this bothered him so much that he decided not to buy the game, despite enjoying the demo.

Furthermore, he also expected more responsive controls but was disappointed. Other users recommended that he send these complaints to the A44 Games team so that they could see about fixing it.

Another user criticized the author of this post for not being able to adapt to the controls, and one player even suggested that if he used blocking while attacking, he could cancel the animation.

Flintlock: Siege of Dawn seems to be a fairly original offering at a time when not many releases are attracting attention. The general reception of the game has yet to be seen. This title is now available for PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC.

The previous major game from this studio, Ashen, had a moderate reception but managed to attract quite a bit of attention. Everything indicates that this new project has a much larger budget than the previous one.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
