As the fourth season ends with a chilling twist for their characters, Doumit opens up about playing the villainous supe opposite Quaid’s Hughie, the protagonist of the show. She shared that it was fun to work with the Scream 5 actor. It was hard for Doumit to keep a straight face during the scenes with Quaid around.

While she had to laser focus at the beginning of every serious scene because of him, she revealed that working with Jack Quaid was endlessly entertaining. Doumit shared that their characters had a real journey throughout the fourth season. Doumit shared with Decider:

It’s always so much fun to work with Jack. He gives you so much. And it’s almost hard not to laugh because he’s such a riot. So whenever it’s a serious moment, you always just kind of have to laser focus when the scene begins. But it’s endlessly entertaining to work with Jack, and I think there’s been a real journey between Vicky and Hughie over the season.

Despite their real-life relationship, Doumit revealed that she had been a huge shipper of Hughie and Annie throughout the run of the series. She wanted them to be the endgame and revealed that “if this show doesn’t end with those two A) living and surviving and B) ending up together, I’ll cry.” Fans will have to wait one more season to know their fate in the series.

Claudia Doumit shared in the interview that Hughie was the “only real friend” that Victoria Neuman ever had. She revealed that their conversations in the fourth season grew more interesting after all the history and betrayal between them. She shared that while Neuman lied to Hughie 99% of the time, there were times in the friendship when she felt that she could be herself.

She added that it was a completely foreign environment for her character. Doumit shared about Neuman’s relationship with Hughie in the show:

Even though she’s lying to him 99% of the time, there are elements to that friendship where she feels like she can be herself, and that is such a foreign environment for Victoria Neuman. And so it’s really beautiful that she gets to have that, even 1% of her gets to have that with Hughie.

Doumit’s Neuman is a lot more conflicted this season and she attributes that to the character’s friendship with Hughie. She shared that only part of her wanted to pursue power while the other part just wanted to run.
