That’s right, we’re talking about cross-platform gameplay. And according to a Steam listing, The Fun Pimps might be dropping some big news to the player base soon.

Most of us have had a similar experience like this before. A new game is announced, and you and your friends can’t wait to get your hands on it.

As release day approaches, the dreaded news comes out: there’s no cross-platform or cross-play integration. You’re on PC, someone’s on an Xbox, the others on a PlayStation—it’s a mess.

At the end of the day, all people wanna do is game with their friends. Not everyone can shell out a couple hundred bucks on top of another sixty to buy a whole new device and copy of the game, just for multiplayer.

That’s why integrating cross-platform and cross-play is so important. There’s a debate about cheaters in team vs. team co-op games, but a solution like the one xDefiant implemented could be the way to go.

7 Days to Die is more of a you and your friends vs. the world-type game, so having cross-platform play would only add to the fun.

While The Fun Pimps has expressed the desire to implement it at some point, there had been no news on it… until now.

However, there’s some confusion going around. A few replies categorize cross-platform as between Linux, MacOS, and Windows.

It isn’t technically wrong, but most people consider cross-platform to be between PC and consoles.

One player clarified that it was written as The Fun Pimps have planned to implement it, not that it’s already there in the game or coming soon.

To that, OP felt it was a bad move on their part to prematurely list it, as it could mislead buyers.

This reply included a link to a visual roadmap from the developers, where cross-play is roughly estimated to be integrated in Q4 2024.

If The Fun Pimps stick to this roadmap, you might be able to play with your friends on other consoles by the end of this year, although it might be a bit buggy.

Roadmaps are heavily subject to change, so it’s best not to get your hopes up too high.
