Helldivers 2 is an online live service game developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. The developers struck gold with this fun multiplayer experience and it could only get better if what fans assumed is true.

The gaming community fell in love with the game’s themes about fighting in a war for democracy and liberty with friends who are now considered brothers. Players want to express themselves to allies by using emotes and a series of animations, but there is one missing that could make the experience sweeter.

Arrowhead Game Studios has taken notes from other successful online multiplayer games and applied them to theirs. It was the right decision and there are some hidden perks like how players discovered that emoting while flying in the middle of the air can decrease the fall damage in Helldivers 2.

It may not mean much to the average player but hardcore fans will take every opportunity to emote between and during missions. Most players use the emotes for comedic purposes or to convey a message to allies but they are a gesture of camaraderie and friendship and the chest bump is the best one yet.

The chest bump does exist and can be seen in other promotional materials and previews. However, it is still unavailable for players to use, and the recent leaks could indicate that chest bump is coming sooner rather than later under the codename “Thoracic Collision Exultation Maneuver”.

Emotes are not game-changers nor groundbreaking but are available for the gaming community to be more expressive. Players can greet each other through emoting and be used as a conversation starter like in many other live-service games like Fortnite.

Some players take advantage of emotes in the live service structure and use them for more nefarious purposes. Fans are campaigning for GTA 6 to feature an emote wheel similar to Fortnite but other players can take it as a sign of aggression and provoke them into a violent encounter.

The developers figured that there would be players who would use these animations to spread more toxicity and ensure that every emote would have different meanings that can’t be misconstrued. In real life, the chest bump is one of the many ways people greet each other in a friendly manner and can be applied here considering the nature of war.

Arrowhead Game Studios is using clever ways to mask the true meaning of certain labels but there is also a slim chance that the players are wrong and could be something else entirely. Regardless, the emote does exist and it is only a matter of time before it will be shared.

Emotes may not have much to offer but it allows players to be more expressive which can be difficult to achieve in video games. Perhaps the developers will add more friendly emotes for players to do together in the name of democracy.
