The overexposed plot lines and cameo appearances are a big pain for the audience. Adding to this would be the upcoming Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer Deadpool & Wolverine. While the movie boasts cameo appearances from a number of celebrities, it also cannot hide the age-old problem with the MCU that Kevin Feige has not been able to get rid of.

The problem in question would be that the studio reveals major cameos and characters in the trailer itself. The most recent one being Dafne Keen’s X-23.

The Deadpool & Wolverine cameos are expanding day by day as the movie gets closer to hitting theaters on July 26th. Now with the release of a new trailer starring Dafne Keen as X-23, Marvel and Disney have given fans something to talk about in the interim. Although this is shocking to many, people are not overly happy about the revelation and have shared their opinions on Discussing Film’s X post. One user posted:

Towards the end of the trailer, Keen could be seen talking to Hugh Jackman. The entire trailer had a rather serious tone and was heavily focused on Jackman’s time as Wolverine in the X-Men franchise.

But this new piece of information came as a surprise, given that in the past, Dafne Keen had strongly emphasized that she wasn’t participating in the movie. During The Acolyte press rounds (via Dexerto), she added:

I love Hugh and, creatively, I love Ryan and I love Shaun. (Further) I’m really excited to see what they’ve made. I think Shaun’s one of the best directors out there right now, and obviously Ryan is a legend. It would have been amazing to be a part of it, but I’ll just go watch it as a fan and to see my old buddy in it.

But during an interview (via Entertainment Weekly), she revealed that she had a “great” time keeping this secret from everyone. Further, while she had to do a lot of interviews and press rounds for her role as Jedi Jecki, she “just got to lie, which was really funny.”

While it was funny for her, the fans on the internet were not so thrilled about her surprise cameo reveal in the trailer. And they had a word or two of their own to add in the comments section.

Fans on the Internet Frustrated As There’s No Suspense or Mystery Left in the MCU

The appearance of Keen in the trailer was a point of contention among the fans. But the recent trailer took away that mystery and suspense from the audience as well. While the excitement over her involvement in the movie is high, it also presents a diminishing element of surprise in the MCU.

Her revelation calls into question the fundamental elements of what make cameos and appearances in films noteworthy. The same thing, which the fans pointed out as well in the below-mentioned tweets.

Others pointed out that so many great reveals and surprises were wasted just because Marvel and Disney wanted to create hype. Moreover, it is reasonable if they disclose a few plot points, but at this rate, they have already spoiled a significant quantity of material, leaving little room for the imagination of the viewers.

But in spite of this, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer Deadpool & Wolverine is looking at a box office debut of $160–$165 million (via Deadline).

Deadpool & Wolverine is scheduled for a theatrical release on 26th July.
