The game’s closed beta has proven to be successful for NetEase Games. The developers are constantly adding new features and mechanics to the game. With the upcoming beta session, they’re finally adding one of the most highly-requested characters, Adam Warlock, who looks even more lethal compared to his MCU counterpart.

Adam Warlock is Finally Coming to Marvel Rivals

Warlock’s inclusion in Marvel Rivals was first revealed on May 30, when we got the confirmation for Venom’s appearance. While the spidey villain has already received his own character trailer, the developers have followed it up by giving Warlock his own.

In Marvel Rivals beta, Warlock is set to be Strategist, which is the game’s support role, and his kit seems to be busted and somewhat controversial. With a magic staff to both wreak foes and heal allies, his abilities will trigger some serious PTSD for the fans of the original Overwatch.

Warlock’s ultimate revolves around an AoE revival, with any ally inside the area returning to life. The tradeoff is that they will have very little health but will also be briefly invisible when they’re resurrected. While he looks to be a promising hero, he seems to be miles apart from the character in the MCU.

You’ll be surprised to know that Warlock’s abilities in MCU don’t revolve around healing his allies. In that universe, he possesses mighty strength, durability, and the ability to manipulate cosmic energy for lethal blasts. The Sovereign created him to stand as a perfect being.

Warlock will join the game’s existing Strategists, Mantis, Loki, Rocket Raccoon, and Luna Snow, as the only healers in the title so far, and he’ll be a welcome addition. Let’s hope NetEase does justice and doesn’t make him feel weak.

When is Marvel Rivals Releasing?

It’s clear that the developers have been working quite hard towards the official launch of Marvel Rivals over the last several months. The 6v6 free-to-play hero shooter has had a number of successful testing periods, with more on the way. However, fans are still wondering when NetEase will give the game a firm release date.

While we still don’t have an official release for the game, it’s anticipated to release in early 2025. Marvel Rivals will be coming on PC, Xbox Series S/X, and PlayStation 5 at launch, but might be announced for other platforms as well.

Currently, there are no pre-orders for the title party because there’s no release date, but it’s a free-to-play game! Unless gamers can get some special edition before the launch loaded with extras and cosmetics, there won’t be any need to put down your hard-earned money.
